The Meta Quest Says the App Can't be Used on Multiple Devices. What do I do?


If your organisation has multiple Meta Quest headsets set up under the same Meta Account, you might get the message below when trying to open the MOONHUB App if someone else in your organisation is already training:


"Multiple Devices Can't Access This App at the Same Time. This app must be purchased separately to be used by multiple devices at the same time. To continue, quit this app on any other devices."


This is a common issue because unfortunately Meta doesn't allow apps to be used simultaneously across devices on the same account.


To fix the issue, you'll need to follow the steps below:


Create a New Meta Account:

  • Open the Meta Quest mobile app on your phone or tablet.
  • Sign out of any existing account by going to the "Settings" menu.
  • Once signed out, select "Create New Account" and follow the on-screen prompts.
  • Enter a new email address, create a strong password, and complete any additional steps like setting up security measures.
  • After setting up the new account, you’ll be able to manage it from the app or on your headset.
  • If you don't have the Meta Quest mobile app downloaded, you can visit auth.meta.com

Factory Reset Your Headset:

  • First, turn on your Meta Quest headset.
  • Hold down the Power button and the Volume Down button together until you see the boot menu.
  • Use the Volume Buttons to scroll to "Factory Reset" and hit the Power Button to select it.
  • Confirm you want to reset by choosing "Yes" and pressing the Power Button again.
  • Give it a few minutes to reset your headset to its original settings.

Set Up the Headset Like It’s Brand New:

  • Once it’s reset, turn it back on and follow the on-screen instructions to get everything set up again.
  • Don’t forget to connect your headset to Wi-Fi during the process.

Redownload the MOONHUB App:

  • After you’re all set up and signed in with your new Meta account, head to the Meta Horizon Store.
  • Search for the "MOONHUB" app and download it onto your headset.

Make Sure Everything’s Working:

  • Open the MOONHUB app to check that it’s working smoothly with your new setup.
  • If it opens up and runs without any issues, you’re good to go!
